Company YIT held the Ridge Party in the residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal»

On 7 July 2010 on the site of the residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal» the company YIT held the Ridge Party relating to the Building 11 A. The Finnish Ridge Party, meaning the completion of construction of the framework of the building, was held in accordance with the old traditions with the festive meal of the Finnish cuisine.  The chairman of the Committee of Building of Saint-Petersburg, Viacheslav Semenenko, the consul of the Consulate General of Finland, Marja Oberg, the vice- president of the Corporation, the head of the business segment «International Construction Services» Kari Kauniskangas, the Director General of "YIT Lentek" Michail Voziyanov and the top managers of the company, the staff of the site, the partners and the representatives of mass media were present at the event.

For the guests of the Party Director General, Michail Voziyanov, and Director of Construction, Pekka Frilander, arranged a walking tour about the objects under construction and the completed objects of the residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal». In the Building 11 ГД, which is prepared for commissioning, the guest were shown the variants of finishing by the standards YIT DOM, the apartments with basic and final finishing.

By the results of the visit of the construction site Viacheslav Semenenko noted, that YIT showed the European approach in construction and that good results of the company as to the level of quality of the constructed residential houses - was a prime example for the construction market of Saint-Petersburg.

Kari Kauniskangas presented the guests the presentation, pointed to the achievements of the company in Saint-Petersburg, high rate of work, and thanked everybody, who took part in the construction of the Building 11 А, which was erected in record short time- for three months without prejudice of the quality of work.

The Party was finalized with the festive dinner with a pea soup for all the guests and the workers of the site - the traditional meal, which is used to be served by the special recipe at the Ridge Party.

The Ridge Party - is the old tradition of the Finnish people, rooted to those distant times, when small ridge roof houses were built in Finland. At that time, when people in the village decided to build a house, all home-folks tried to help them. When construction reached the stage of the roof erection, the owners of the house made a party to their fellow-villagers. Today hundreds of years after, such party is celebrated any time, when builders reach the completion of their work. But it is not just a holiday, dated to entering into the final stage of construction - it is a kind of a ritual, an opportunity to say «thanks» to everybody, who took part in the construction of the object.

The residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal» is being constructed in Primorsky district, at the intersection of Parashiutnaya street and Marshal Novikova street. The complex consists of eight houses of 16-25 storeys with integrated premises of commercial purpose. In the residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal» there are about 1550 apartments of total area over 90 000 sq.м. To date three Buildings - 12, 10 and 9А are put into operation. In summer 2010 two Buildings - 11Б and 11 ГД will be commissioned. The Building 11А will be commissioned in 2011. After construction of the Buildings 11В and 9БВ in 2012 YIT will complete in full the construction of the residential complex «Komendantsky kvartal». Play and sports grounds will be built in the internal yards, foot paths will by paved with artificial stone. For automobilists the detached 5-storeyed parking for 300 car parking places will be provided.
